    Abstract
A single cell downlink scenario is considered, where a multiple-antenna base station delivers contents to cache-enabled user terminals. Depending on the available degrees of freedom, several multicast messages are transmitted in parallel to distinct subsets of users. In the multicast beamformer design, we restrict ourselves to linear receiver implementation, which does not require successive interference cancellation unlike in the more optimal baseline scheme. With a small loss in performance, the complexity of both the receiver and transmitter implementation can be significantly reduced. © 2018 IEEE

Approaching the capacity of two-pair bidirectional Gaussian relay networks

    Abstract
The authors present an improved achievable rate region for two-pair bidirectional Gaussian relay networks based on successive compute-and-forward method. In these networks, one relay helps in the communication between two pairs of users. In their proposed scheme, the authors use nested lattice codes for encoding the messages at the users, and Gaussian random codes for the encoding at the relay. They use the successive compute-and-forward strategy to decode two integer linear combinations of the lattice codewords in the uplink, and successive interference cancellation for decoding the Gaussian codewords in the downlink. The downlink channel can be considered as a broadcast channel with two...

Optimum low complexity filter bank for generalized orthogonal frequency division multiplexing

    Abstract
Generalized frequency division multiplexing (GFDM) is one of the multicarrier modulation candidates proposed for the 5th generation of wireless networks. Among GFDM linear receivers, GFDM MMSE receiver achieves the best error performance for multipath fading channels at the cost of high numerical complexity. Hence, the combination of GFDM match filter (MF) receiver and double-side successive interference cancellation (DSIC) method is used instead. However, there is a significant gap between the error performance of GFDM MMSE and DSIC/MF receivers for the case of employing modern channel coding. Recently, we have proposed a new multicarrier scheme based on GFDM architecture called generalized...

    Abstract
In this paper, we consider a multiple-input single-output (MISO) non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system in the presence of an external single-antenna eavesdropper. We study secure downlink transmission strategies. The challenge is that the multiple antenna configurations make the successive interference cancellation (SIC) condition, which is necessary for applying NOMA schemes, much complex. We formulate the transmission power minimization problem under the quality of service (QoS), SIC and secrecy constraints. In particular, the transmission power minimization problems are formulated under both perfect channel state information (CSI) and the bounded CSI error models. These problems...
