    Abstract
Development of visual detection methods regarding water pollutants can effectively facilitate water resource monitoring programs. A wide color-varying ratiometric approach has been developed for sensitive determination of sulfide by mixing orange emissive glutathione stabilized gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) and blue emissive urea stabilized carbon dots (CDs) in an appropriate ratio. Under a single excitation wavelength of 365 nm, the ratiometric fluorescence (RF) probe exhibited two distinct emission bands at 452 and 607 nm corresponding to CDs and AuNCs, respectively. Owing to the high affinity of sulfide ions to AuNCs in alkaline medium, the fluorescence (FL) of AuNCs was turned-off while the...

Molecular dynamics simulation of formation and growth of CdS nanoparticles

    Abstract
Monodispersed semiconducting nanoparticles are usually synthesised in a liquid medium using injection of an appropriate solution. A key factor in attaining a narrow particle size distribution (PSD) is the temporal separation of the nucleation and growth stages, where the former takes place during the injection. Faster injection produces a larger number of nuclei and a narrower PSD. The injection speed is expected to affect the diffusion of the ions in the solution and to create uniformly high supersaturation for a short period of time. In this paper, we study the growth of CdS nanoparticles during the injection by molecular dynamics simulation. A solution of Cd ions is injected into the...

    Abstract
In terms of manufacturability, there is a high tendency to deposit light-absorbing CuInS2 films by solution processing methods like ink-based depositions. In particular, for nanoparticle inks, the synthesis of highly dispersed and stable inks, with uniformity in the deposition process, is a serious challenge. Here, we demonstrate a novel two-step low-temperature CuInS2 film deposition method in which the In2S3 is deposited first. It then partially is converted into CuInS2 through the infiltration of Cu+ ions in the In2S3 layer in a dip-coating process. The resulting films are highly uniform, with diffraction peaks indicating the formation of pure CuInS2 phase. The proper stoichiometry of...
