    Abstract
    We report the structural, spectroscopic, and computational studies of two new Re(i) tricarbonyl complexes bearing 2,3,6,7-tetraphenyl-1,4,5,8-tetraazaphenanthrene (Ph4TAP) and 4,5-diazafluoren-9-one (dafone) having a coordinated perrhenate group obtained via in situ superoxidation of Re(i) to Re(vii); intramolecular and intermolecular n → π∗ interactions are dominant and stabilize the molecular geometry and crystal packing.     Abstract
    Background & Objective: The potent antioxidant property of fullerene C60 nanoparticles and their derivatives has been demonstrated in a wide range of in vitro and in vivo studies. Hence, we examined the effects of fullerene C60 on the oxidative stress parameters in brain and liver of the rats in normal situation. Materials & Methods: The study was performed in two groups of Wistar rats (each group, n = 6); normal and fullerene-treated normal animals.     Abstract
    The treatment of refractory wastewater and energy utilization are challenging environmental issues. Carbonate as the most common anion abounds in the aquatic environment. Here, we proposed a novel method to degrade carbonate-containing wastewater and simultaneous electricity generation via the combined oxidation of CO3[rad]− and O2[rad]− radicals.     The oxidation-precipitation method was used for the synthesis of Fe3O4/AC. The characterization of the catalyst was accomplished by XRD, FT-IR, FE-SEM, BET, and VSM techniques. The obtained results indicated that magnetite nanoparticles were successfully prepared with cubic spinel structures and uniform distribution on the surface of activated carbon by the oxidation-precipitation method.     Abstract
    In the present study, a novel α-MnO2/AgI photocatalyst was successfully fabricated by using hydrothermal/precipitation methods, and its photocatalytic performance was evaluated from the degradation of Acid blue 92 (AB92) dye under visible light irradiation. The surface and crystalline structure, morphology, and electro-chemical properties of the as-made photocatalyst were investigated by BET, XRD, XPS, SEM-EDS, TEM, DRS, PL, PC, and Raman analysis.     The current study was designed to assess the association between temporal variations in urban PM2.5 chemical composition, sources, and the oxidative stress and inflammatory response in an alveolar macrophage (AM) model. A year-long sampling campaign collected PM2.5 samples at the Sharif University in Tehran, Iran.     Carbonaceous materials (CMs) have been applied extensively for enhancing the catalytic performance of environmental catalysts, however, the self-catalytic mechanism of CMs for groundwater remediation is rarely investigated. Herein, we unveiled the catalytic ability of various CMs via Fe(III) reduction through polyvinyl alcohol-coated calcium peroxide nanoparticles (PVA@nCP) for trichloroethylene (TCE) removal.
