Optimization of watt's six-bar linkage to generate straight and parallel leg motion

    , Article International Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems ; Volume 9 , 2012 ; 17298806 (ISSN) Mehdigholi, H ; Akbarnejad, S ; Sharif University of Technology
    2012
    Abstract
This paper considers optimal synthesis of a special type of four-bar linkages. Combination of this optimal four-bar linkage with on of it's cognates and elimination of two redundant cognates will result in a Watt's six-bar mechanism, which generates straight and parallel motion. This mechanism can be utilized for legged machines. The advantage of this mechanism is that the leg remains straight during it's contact period and because of it's parallel motion, the legs can be as wide as desired to increase contact area and decrease the number of legs required to keep body's stability statically and dynamically. "Genetic algorithm" optimization method is used to find optimal lengths. It is...

Irradiation synthesis of biopolymer-based superabsorbent hydrogel: optimization using the taguchi method and investigation of its swelling behavior

    , Article Advances in Polymer Technology ; Volume 28, Issue 2 , 2009 , Pages 131-140 ; 07306679 (ISSN) Rezanejade Bardajee, G ; Pourjavadi, A ; Soleyman, R ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In this report, the synthesis of a novel superabsorbent hydrogel via γ-irradiation graft copolymerization of acrylamide onto sodium alginate and kappa-carrageenan hybrid backbones in a homogeneous solution is described. The Taguchi method was used as a powerful experimental design tool for synthesis optimization. A series of superabsorbent hydrogels was synthesized by proposed conditions of Qualitek-4 software. Considering the results of nine trials according to analysis of variance, optimum conditions were proposed. The swelling behavior of optimum superabsorbent hydrogels was studied in various solutions, with pH values ranging from 1 to 13. In addition, swelling kinetics, swelling in...

    Abstract
Typical copper ferrite nanoparticles (CuFe2O4) were used as a catalyst for one-pot synthesis of β-ketophosphonates via the reaction of alkenes with H-phosphonates under conventional heating conditions. The catalyst was prepared by using the coprecipitation method and was analyzed by physiochemical techniques. By using this catalyst system, several types of useful and new β-ketophosphonate products were obtained in very good to excellent yields under optimized reaction conditions in a novel way. Furthermore, the catalyst is recyclable and reusable from the reaction. © 2020 Elsevier B.V

Novel nano-porous hydrogel as a carrier matrix for oral delivery of tetracycline hydrochloride

    , Article Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects ; Volume 392, Issue 1 , December , 2011 , Pages 16-24 ; 09277757 (ISSN) Bardajee, G. R ; Pourjavadi, A ; Soleyman, R ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
A novel nano-porous hydrogel (NPH) was synthesized via graft copolymerization of sodium acrylate (Na-AA) and acrylamide (AAm) onto salep backbones and its application as a carrier matrix for oral delivery of tetracycline hydrochloride (TH) was investigated. The Taguchi method as a strong experimental design tool was used for synthesis optimization. The swelling behavior of optimum hydrogel was measured in various media. The hydrogel formation was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and thermogravimetrical analysis (TGA). The study of the surface morphology of the hydrogels using SEM and AFM showed a nanoporous (average pore size: 180. nm) structure for the sample...

    Abstract
The synthesis of a novel superabsorbent hydrogel with natural hybrid backbone via graft copolymerization of acrylamide (AAm) onto kappa-carrageenan (kC, as a polysaccharide) and gelatin (as a protein) under classic thermal conditions is described. The Taguchi method as a strong experimental design tool was used for synthesis optimization. A series of hydrogels were synthesized by proposed conditions of Qualitek-4 Software. Considering the results of 9 trials according to analysis of variance (ANOVA), optimum conditions were proposed. The swelling behavior of optimum hydrogel was measured in various solutions with pH values ranging from 1 to 13. In addition, swelling kinetics, swelling in...
