    Abstract
    One of the miscellaneous units that are frequently used in water and wastewater systems is flush tank. Flush tank increases the self cleaning velocity in the conduit, and helps to clear the conduits from deposits and contaminations. While these units have been used for many years, there is not enough information about the hydraulic performance of these units in respect to the discharge, distance from the tank and the pipe hydraulics.     Application of genetic algorithm for optimization of separator pressures in multistage production units

    Abstract
    In this article, a genetic algorithm is used to optimize the separator pressures in a multistage crude oil and multistage gas condensate production unit with four and three separators respectively. This leads to the generation of more accurate results for the quality and quantity of oil remaining in the stock tank for both crude oil and gas condensate production units. Genetic-based optimized pressures for crude oil separators resulted in 1.8% and 2% enhancement in oil remaining in the stock tank for summer and winter respectively. API gravity of the stock tank oil was improved 2.4% in summer and 2.2% in winter. For the gas condensate production unit, optimized pressures can enhance by 8.6%...

    Abstract
    In order to be more precise to find primary cosmic particles directions, nowadays detectors and data analysis for studying secondary particles in extensive air showers have an ongoing progress and water Cherenkov detector is considered as a secondary particle detector. Our aim in this paper is to optimize the size and the inner surface characteristic of a cylindrical water Cherenkov tank with one PMT. By comparing simulation outputs with experiments results, we show that the diffusing inner surface is more practical than the reflective inner surface and we conclude that the optimum height for a diffusing tank with a diameter of 45cm is 60cm

    The hydraulic performances of drain pipes are very important in drainage projects and systems. Usually these pipes are used in a saturated soil to decrease the water table to a favorable level or, drain the excess water. However, drain pipes can be used in a water or wastewater tank for different purposes such as selective withdrawal.     A new switching method for the stabilisation of a one-dimensional capacitor array tank for the stepwise charging of a load capacitor is presented. In this method, the tank capacitor configuration is rearranged in a circular manner once the charging process of a load capacitor finishes and before the charging process of a new load capacitor begins. Unlike previously reported methods, this method does not require backward switching for the stabilisation of tank capacitor voltages.     Abstract
    This paper investigates the static and dynamic buckling of an anchored cylindrical steel tank subjected to horizontal and vertical ground acceleration. The buckling capacity of the tank is estimated using static pushover (SPO) and incremental dynamic analyses (IDA). Appropriate load patterns due to the horizontal and vertical components of ground excitations are utilized for SPO analyses. The buckling capacity curves and critical buckling loads computed using SPO analyses are compared to those obtained from IDA. A proper vertical to horizontal acceleration ratio (av/ah) for SPO analysis is proposed that leads to good agreement between SPO and IDA results. © 2017

    Abstract
    A new small array of cherenkov detectors has been deployed in Tehran, 1200 m above sea level. This array contains of four tanks full of distilled water with diameter of 64 cm and height of 130 cm. The effective area of each tank is about 6.5 × 103cm2 . They are used to detect the air showers and to record the arrival time of the secondary particles. We have collected about 486643 EAS in 5270 h of observation time from Nov-2006 to May-2007. We find zenith and azimuth distribution of EAS with this array. A cosn θ distribution with n = 7.3±0.1 was obtained for zenith angle.     Abstract
    A numerical model based on the boundary element method is proposed for the sloshing of a flowing liquid in a three-dimensional tank. Assuming a mean flow in the tank in addition to a perturbation flow, the nonlinear boundary conditions of the liquid free-surface are linearized. Using the boundary element method along with the modal analysis technique a reduced order model is obtained which is used to calculate the fundamental sloshing frequencies and modes in the tank with an inlet and outlet.     Simulation, design and fabrication of a sealing enclosure is carried out for a NaI(Tl) 2″×2″ detector, to be used as in situ gamma radioactivity measurement system in marine environment. Effect of sealing enclosure on performance of the system in laboratory and marine environment (distinct tank with 10 m3 volume) were studied using point sources. The marine volumetric efficiency for radiation with 1461 keV energy (from 40K) is measured with KCl volumetric liquid source diluted in distinct tank.     Abstract
    In this paper, an analytic model of the energy consumption of the Stepwise Adiabatic Circuits (SAC) when it is possible to discharge the load capacitor is proposed. Using this model, analytical derivations are calculated which shows us the power saving of the SACs. Using analytical derivations, the sizing of a capacitor tank is determined for a desired energy saving. For example, the derivations predict that if the sizing of the 3-step series tank capacitors is equal to the load capacitor, the power saving is 55%.
