Abstract
In keeping with the continuing effort toward the development of a domestic space research and development program in recent years, the Omid National Satellite (ONS) is the first domestically manufactured satellite from the Islamic Republic of Iran. As a technology demonstration, it was launched and utilized successfully in February 2009. Despite the simple mission of the ONS, because it was the first full-scale successful space deployment experience for the country, the domestic manufacturing capabilities for satellite and launch technologies were boosted. More importantly, the country's domestic platform for future space projects was established. Considering the important role of systems...
Making HeNB more secure with improved secure access protocol and analyzing it

Abstract
The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) defined a new architecture, called Home eNode B (HeNB). HeNB is able to provide new services with higher data rate in a low cost. Security is a critical aspect of HeNB. In order to have HeNB secure access to core network, 3GPP defines an authentication protocol based on IKEv2. A number of security vulnerabilities such as HeNB masquerading have not been addressed and solved by 3GPP technical specification yet. In this paper an improved HeNB authentication protocol is introduced which does not allow an attacker to connect unauthorized network users using a mask. Finally, we evaluate our protocol performance and verify it by Automated Validation of...

Abstract
Developing ocean energy extraction, including ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC), has been of interest to researchers for many decades. OTEC is a free fuel technology and could be used as a baseline power generation. These advantages plus the engineering challenge have resulted in researchers striving to design and construct prototype devices. Making use of worldwide experience, all sections of a conceptual design including site selection, technical specifications and cost estimation were carried out for an Iranian OTEC power plant. A 5 MW closed cycle floating plant with an annual average temperature difference of 22°C was chosen at a 33 km distance from Chabahar harbour. Deep seawater...
Experimental investigation on effects of elastomer components on dynamic and mechanical properties in seismic isolator compounds

Abstract
Elastomeric bearings are becoming a preferred device for isolating bridges, buildings, and sensitive equipment structures. The technical specifications used to procure these isolators are considered as important factors for the consumers. Lack of communication between structural engineers and rubber technologists, causes structural engineers have slight understanding of rubber properties. In the present study, a number of compounds were initially designed and manufactured, based on a previously studied and manufactured isolator compound. The outcome of the experiments indicated the physical and mechanical properties. Afterwards, the targeted improvement led to modification of the compounds...
A proposed Multibeam Ka-Band Satellite for providing high-speed internet service for Iranian universities and educational institutions
, Article 2007 IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications and Malaysia International Conference on Communications, ICT-MICC 2007, Penang, 14 May 2007 through 17 May 2007 ; February , 2007 , Pages 283-288 ; 1424410940 (ISBN); 9781424410941 (ISBN) ; Farzaneh, F ; Sharif University of Technology

Abstract
A Multibeam Ka-band Satellite to offer High Speed Internet service to state and private universities and high schools based on 2007-2008 academic year statistical data is proposed. For this goal an optimum coverage on Iran has been created using MATLAB software. These data were transferred to 1:250000 digital map of Iran using ILWIS software. After reading the coordinates of cities located in each contour, which were more than 640 locations, we proceeded to calculate traffic specifications of each beam. After frequency planning for beams, the power and dimension of earth stations were designed. Finally the technical specifications of the proposed satellite to serve nationwide users are...
