Ternary nanostructures of Cr2O3/graphene oxide/conducting polymers for supercapacitor application

    , Article Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry ; Volume 823 , 2018 , Pages 505-516 ; 15726657 (ISSN) Asen, P ; Shahrokhian, S ; Iraji Zad, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In this work, nanostructured composites of Cr2O3-graphene oxide (Cr2O3/GO) with conducting polymers; polyaniline (PANI) and polypyrrole (PPy) with the shape of cauliflower were synthesized via s simple and low cost one-step chronoamperometry method. The structures and morphologies of the resulting ternary nanocomposites were characterized by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The electrochemical capacitive properties of the prepared nanocomposites were evaluated by using cycle voltammetry, galvanostatic charge-discharge, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The...

Manufacturing and Mechanical Properties and Microstructure Optimization of the Ternary Polypropylene-based Composite Reinforced by Short Flax Fibers and Toughened by Poe Rubber Particles

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Bahrami, Reza (Author) ; Bagheri, Reza (Supervisor) ; Seyed Reyhani, Morteza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Recently, Polypropylene has been extensively used in a variety of applications in the polymer industry, but its quite low stiffness and toughness limit this polyolefin’s application in the engineering functions; thus, the market of polymer blend and composite manufacturing has grown noticeably in the last few years. In the current project, short Flax fibers are used in order to reinforce the PP matrix. Firstly, Flax fibers were washed with the gentle and harsh condition during the alkalization process, then the optimized alkalization condition was determined through comparison of results from X-ray Diffraction (XRD ), Attenuated Total Reflectance FTIR (ATR-FTIR) and microscopic surface...

Morphology and phase-controlled growth of CuInS2 nanoparticles through polyol based heating up synthesis approach

    Abstract
The properties of colloidal nanoparticles are the key parameters in the fabrication of inexpensive solar cells based on the solution methods. In this study, Different nanostructures of CuInS2 (CIS) were successfully synthesized by a heating-up facile polyol-based method in which, polyols including diethylene glycol (DEG), ethylene glycol (EG), and glycerol (Gly) were chosen as both the solvent and the reductant. It is found that not only the indium precursor type but also the polyol solvent are greatly effective on the size, morphology and crystal phase of this sulfide ternary composition. Briefly, the heating-up synthesis using In(acac)3 in DEG and Gly media, created nano-sized particles...

Utilizing graphene oxide/gold/methylene blue ternary nanocomposite as a visible light photocatalyst for a plasmon-enhanced singlet oxygen generation

    Abstract
In this study, graphene oxide/gold/methylene blue (GO/Au/MB) ternary composites were synthesized and characterized through UV–vis, FTIR, XRD, XPS, SEM, and TEM analyses towards plasmon-enhanced singlet oxygen (1O2) generation. Through using gold nanoparticles and MB photosensitizers, the visible light adsorption capability of GO was enhanced by 115%. Moreover, applying this ternary composite as a photocatalyst under visible light interestingly revealed a drastic step-increase of 14% (i.e., from 9 to 23%) in the conversion of photooxygenation of Anthracene. This behavior was rationalized using finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulations which confirms the plasmonic field of gold...

    Abstract
Herein, MIL-101(Fe), CoFe2O4, novel binary (MIL-101(Fe)/CoFe2O4, MIL-101(Fe)/GO and CoFe2O4/GO), and ternary (MIL-101(Fe)/CoFe2O4/(3%)GO and MIL-101(Fe)/CoFe2O4/(7%)GO) magnetic composites based upon the MIL-101(Fe) were synthesized. The XRD, FESEM, TEM, EDX, BET-BJH, FTIR, VSM, DRS, PL, EIS and other electrochemical analyses were applied to characterize samples. The MIL/CoFe2O4/(3%)GO demonstrated the best performance compared to other samples for visible light photocatalytic and photo-Fenton-like degradation of Direct Red 23 (DtR-23), Reactive Red 198 (ReR-198) dyes as well as Tetracycline Hydrochloride (TC-H) antibiotic. Degradation of dyes using the ternary composite after 70 min of...
