    Abstract
    The A5/1 algorithm is one of the most applicable and famous stream cipher algorithms. However, the period of A5/1 keystream sequence and the exact structure of its internal state transition were not investigated thoroughly, until now. This paper deals with the transition of the internal state of A5/1 algorithm and tries to present a model for such a transition. Additionally, the internal states are divided into two groups, initially periodic and ultimately periodic. The presented model is verified using a variety of simulations and it is consistent with theoretical results as well

    Abstract
    In this paper, we propose a novel cognitive cooperative relaying scheme using multi-carrier transmission in which cognitive users assist primary users by relaying their information using Decode and Forward (DF) strategy. The best cognitive user is selected as a relay for a Primary User (PU). Outage probability of the PU is investigated. Our analyses show substantial improvements in the outage probability of the PU when using the proposed cooperative scheme compared to non-cooperative one. We also perform several simulations to corroborate our theoretical results

    As an alternative to adaptive nonlinear schemes for dimensionality reduction, linear random projection has recently proved to be a reliable means for high-dimensional data processing. Widespread application of conventional random projection in the context of image analysis is, however, mainly impeded by excessive computational and memory requirements.     A novel orthogonal frequency division multiple access-based cognitive cooperative relaying scheme is proposed in which cognitive users assist primary users (PUs) by relaying their information. Both PUs and cognitive users communicate to a common base station. Based on the received feedback, cognitive users relay data of PUs. Two different schemes of relay assignment and power allocation are considered. Probability of error of PU and outage probabilities of both primary and cognitive users are investigated.     Abstract
    The aim of this paper is to present an Extended Kantorovich approach to simulate the static deflection of microplates under electrostatic voltage. The model accounts for the electric force nonlinearity of the excitation. Starting from a one term Galerkin approximation and following the Extended Kantorovich procedure, the equations governing the microplate deflection are obtained. These equations are then solved iteratively with a rapid convergence procedure to yield the desired solution.     Abstract
    This paper discusses the dynamic behavior of the brushless doubly fed induction generator during the grid faults which lead to a decrease in the generator's terminal voltage. The variation of the fluxes, back EMFs, and currents are analyzed during and after the voltage dip. Furthermore, two alternative approaches are proposed to improve the generator ride-through capability using crowbar and series dynamic resistor circuits. Appropriate values for their resistances are calculated analytically.     Abstract
    In the presence of self and cross saturation effects, the laser governing equations are nonlinear. To solve the governing equations of a fiber Bragg grating random laser, on the basis of the transfer matrix method, a simple and fast iterative method is introduced. The method is employed to obtain the frequency, threshold pumping rate and spatial distribution of different laser modes. Numerical calculations show that by increasing the number of fiber Bragg grating, the number of lasing modes increases, while the threshold pumping rate of the first mode decreases. Our theoretical results are in agreement with the experimental observations reported by previous authors

    A general method for deriving electromagnetic particle in cell (EMPIC) algorithms has been given by Eastwood [Comput. Phys. Commun. 64, 252 (1991)]. This method devises variation of the action-integral to find discrete governing equations. The most important advantage of this method is automatic inclusion of the time coordinate via the action integral into the computational domain.     Abstract
    This paper deals with control of the brachiation robot. The brachiation is a type of mobile robot that moves from branch to branch like a long-armed ape. Here, as a new innovation, Pontryagin's minimum principle is used to obtain the optimal trajectories for two different problems. The first problem is "Brachiation between fixed branches with different distance and height" and the second is "Brachiating and catching the moving target branch". Theoretical results show that the control effort in the proposed method is reduced by 25% in comparison with the "Target Dynamics" method which was proposed in prior articles for this robot.     In this study power transmission modulation for different fibers in a fiber-to-fiber design using two different light sources is reported. A fiber-to-fiber arrangement is used in which the source light is directly coupled to the first fiber and the second fiber delivers the light to a power meter.     This article reports the experimental and theoretical results for a spark ignition engine working with compressed natural gas as a fuel. The theoretical part of this work uses a zero-dimensional, multi-zone combustion model in order to predict nitric oxide (NO) emission in a spark ignition (SI) engine. The basic concept of the model is the division of the burned gas into several distinct zones for taking into account the temperature stratification of the burned mixture during combustion.
