Synthesis of aza-Henry products and enamines in water by Michael addition of amines or thiols to activated unsaturated compounds

    , Article Tetrahedron Letters ; Volume 49, Issue 7 , 2008 , Pages 1244-1248 ; 00404039 (ISSN) Ziyaei Halimehjani, A ; Saidi, M. R ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Nitroamines and nitrothiols were synthesized in high yields by the Michael addition of amines and thiols to nitroolefins without using any catalyst. Also, the reaction of amines with dimethylacetylene dicarboxylate (DMAD) in water afforded the corresponding enamines. © 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved

KF/Al2O3-mediated Michael addition of thiols to electron-deficient olefins

    Abstract
Potassium fluoride supported on alumina efficiently catalyzes Michael addition of aromatic and aliphatic thiols to a variety of conjugated alkenes such as α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds, carboxylic esters, amides, nitriles and chalcones. The Michael adducts are produced in good to excellent yields and relatively in short times. The catalyst can be recycled for subsequent reactions without any appreciable loss of efficiency. Abstract
Accelerated Michael-type Friedel-Crafts alkylation of naphthols with nitrostyrenes in the presence of water is reported. The procedure is simple, catalyst-free, and affords good yields of the products. © 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved

Enhanced electrochemical activity of a hollow carbon sphere/polyaniline-based electrochemical biosensor for HBV DNA marker detection

    , Article ACS Biomaterials Science and Engineering ; Volume 5, Issue 5 , 2019 , Pages 2587-2594 ; 23739878 (ISSN) Salimian, R ; Shahrokhian, S ; Panahi, S ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Herein, we present a novel, simple, and ultrasensitive electrochemical DNA (E-DNA) sensor based on hollow carbon spheres (HCS) decorated with polyaniline (PANI). A thiolated 21-mer oligonucleotide, characteristic of HBV DNA, is immobilized via electrodeposited gold nanoparticles on HCS-PANI. Cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) are used to characterize the electrochemical properties of the prepared nanocomposite. Scanning electron microscopy is employed to investigate the morphological texture of the fabricated modifier. An enhanced intrinsic signal of PANI is probed to evaluate the biosensing ability of the prepared...

A colorimetric sensor array for detection and discrimination of biothiols based on aggregation of gold nanoparticles

    Abstract
Developments of sensitive, rapid, and cheap systems for identification of a wide range of biomolecules have been recognized as a critical need in the biology field. Here, we introduce a simple colorimetric sensor array for detection of biological thiols, based on aggregation of three types of surface engineered gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). The low-molecular-weight biological thiols show high affinity to the surface of AuNPs; this causes replacement of AuNPs' shells with thiol containing target molecules leading to the aggregation of the AuNPs through intermolecular electrostatic interaction or hydrogen-bonding. As a result of the predetermined aggregation, color and UV-vis spectra of AuNPs...
