Abstract
Nanodiamond-graphite (NDG) decorated with Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs-NDG) was prepared and used to construct a novel sensitive sensor for the voltammetric determination of thioridazine (TR). The results indicate a remarkable increase in the oxidation peak currents together with a negative shift in the oxidation peak potentials, in comparison to the bare pyrolytic graphite electrode. Remarkable enhancement in microscopic area of the electrode along with strong adsorption of TR on the surface of the modified electrode resulted in a considerable increase in the peak current of TR. The surface morphology and the nature of the composite film deposited on PGE were characterized by scanning electron...

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology ; Shahrokhian, Saeed (Supervisor)
Abstract
In the first part, metallic nanoparticles were synthesized on the different carbon nanostructers platform such as nanodiamond and graphene sheet using electrochemical and chemical methods. The prepared composite film were characterized by electron microscopy, spectroscopy and electrochemical techniques. The synthesized nanocomposite were applied as a modifier in order to prepare electrochemical sensors for determination trace amount of important pharmaceutical and biological compounds. In the first work, Nanodiamond-graphite (NDG) decorated with Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs-NDG) was synthesized with chemical method. The surface morphology and the nature of the composite were investigated. The...

Abstract
Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were immobilised with cobalt nanoparticles and analyzed by transmission electron microscopy. This modification procedure substantially improved colloidal dispersion of the immobilised MWCNTs in water and organic solvents, yielding uniform and stable thin films for modification of the glassy carbon electrode surface. The modified electrode showed an efficient catalytic role for the electrochemical oxidation of thioridazine (TR), leading to remarkable decrease in its oxidation overpotential of approximately 100 mV and enhancement of the kinetics of the electrode reaction, which can be confirmed by increasing in the peak current and sharpness of the peak....
