Abstract
Nano sized ZnO on TiO 2 spherical core shells were prepared by using hydrothermal method. The particle size of initial TiO 2 was around 20 nm, and the specific surface area was 50 m2/gr. Abstract
Treatment of dye pollution containing C.I. Acid Red 14 (AR14) by a coupled photocatalytic process was studied. Titanium dioxide, in the form of anatase and rutile, and zinc oxide, were used as photocatalysts. The investigated photocatalysts were Aldrich-produced nanopowders with crystallites of a mean size of 20-30 nm and a specific surface area of about 50 m 2/g. A comparison of TiO 2(anatase), TiO 2(rutile), TiO 2(a,r), and ZnO for the decolorization of the AR14 solution was performed. Abstract
Pd 2+-doped TiO 2 thin films with mesoporous structure were produced on quartz substrate by sol-gel dip coating. The structural, morphological and optical properties of the film were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and UV/vis transmittance spectroscopy. By increasing the Pd 2+ concentration from 0 to 6 mol%, the crystallites appeared solely as the anatase phase and their average sizes decreased from 10.5 to 7.1 nm. Abstract
At room temperature, SO 2- 4/nano-TiO 2 efficiently catalyze the direct Mannich-type reaction of varieties of in situ-generated aldimines using aldehydes and anilines with ketones in a three-component reaction under solvent-free conditions. The reaction proceeds rapidly and affords the correspondingβ-amino ketones in good to high yields with good to excellent stereoselectivity. Abstract
A seeding-growth approach was used to prepare Au@Ag@Au core double shell nanoparticles which were loaded on a rutile-nanorods/anatase-nanobranches thin film via the impregnation method. The thin film was synthesized on a fluorine-doped SnO 2 substrate via three stages of (i)TiCl 4 treatment, (ii)hydrothermal, and (iii)aqueous chemistry. Abstract
In this study, titanium substrates which previously oxidized through Micro arc oxidation method, was coated by Hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating once more by means of the same method. Morphology, topography and chemical properties as well as phase composition and thickness of layers were studied to reveal the effect of the electrolyte concentration on coating features. TiO 2 dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) in the form of double-layer films, containing an under-layer and an over-layer, with various crystal structures (i.e., anatase and rutile phases) and morphologies (i.e., nanoparticle and nanowire) were reported. It was found that the photovoltaic performance of TiO 2 DSSCs depends on the morphology, crystal structure, light scattering effect, optical band gap energy and arrangement of the under- and over-layer films. This article investigates phenol removal from an aqueous solution by using enzymatic and photocatalytic methods and the efficiency of these methods has been compared. In enzymatic and photocatalytic methods, Coprinus cinereus, peroxidase enzyme and commercial TiO2 powders (Degussa P-25) in aqueous suspension were used, respectively, in ambient temperature. In this study a novel Pt/Ni nanostructure consisting of nano-bushes and nanocubes was fabricated onto TiO 2 nanotubes. The scanning electron microscopy images showed that a large amount of well-dispersed nano-architectures had uniformly covered all over the surface which made an electrode with high surface area. It was obviously seen that the nanocube structures mainly consists of Ni had been grown on top of each other while the Pt colonies represented bush-like structures. Abstract
Hierarchical TiO 2 nanorod/nanoflower thin film was synthesized on fluorine doped tin oxide glass via hydrothermal and aqueous chemistry methods. According to field emission scanning electron microscopy results, the thin film was crack-free and uniform. Primary nanorods had an average diameter of 95 nm and a length of 2 µm. They were perpendicular to the substrate owing to the TiO 2 prenucleation. Growth of the nanoflowers on the nanorods could increase both the specific surface area and roughness. X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy showed that the nanorods were rutile; while the nanoflowers were anatase. Efficient electron transfer from anatase to rutile could therefore occur....

Abstract
In the present study, the structural features, corrosion behavior, and in vitro bioactivity of TiO 2 nanotubular arrays coated on Ti–6Al–4V (Ti64) alloy were investigated. For this reason, Ti64 plates were anodized in an ammonium fluoride electrolyte dissolved in a 90:10 ethylene glycol and water solvent mixture at room temperature under a constant potential of 60 V for 1 h. Subsequently, the anodized specimens were annealed in an argon gas furnace at 500 and 700 °C for 1.5 h with a heating and cooling rate of 5 °C min −1 . Abstract
CeO 2-TiO 2 nanoparticles were prepared by the sol-gel process using 2-hydroxylethylammonium formate as room-temperature ionic liquid and calcined at different temperatures (500-700°C). CeO 2-TiO 2-graphene nanocomposites were prepared by hydrothermal reaction of graphene oxide with CeO 2-TiO 2 nanoparticles in aqueous solution of ethanol. The photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction, BET surface area, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and Fourier transformed infrared techniques. Abstract
Hierarchical submicrometer TiO 2 hollow spheres with outer diameter of 300-700 nm and shell thickness of 200 nm are synthesized by liquid phase deposition of TiO 2 over carbon microspheres as sacrificial templates. The final TiO 2 hollow spheres are applied as a scattering layer on top of a transparent nanocrystalline TiO 2 film, serving as the photoanode of a dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC). In addition to efficient light scattering, the mesoporous structure of TiO 2 hollow spheres provides a high surface area, 74 m 2/g, which allows for higher dye loading. The present work describes sensing application of modified TiO 2 nanotubes having carbon-Pt nanoparticles for simultaneous detection of dopamine and uric acid. The TiO 2 nanotubes electrode was prepared using anodizing method, followed by electrodeposition of Pt nanoparticles onto the tubes. Carbon was deposited by decomposition of polyethylene glycol in a tube furnace to improve the conductivity. A conic body packed bed reactor, internally irradiated with a UV-C lamp and equipped with circulating upflow stream was employed to investigate the decomposition of a widely used azo dye, direct red 16, in water. The synthesized nanostructure TiO 2 photocatalyst particles were immobilized on the surface of transparent Raschig ring packings.
