    Abstract
A high-throughput micro-solid-phase extraction device based on a 96-well plate was constructed and applied to the determination of pesticide residues in various apple samples. Butyl methacrylate and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate were copolymerized as a monolithic polymer and placed in the cylindrically shaped stainless-steel meshes of 96-micro-solid-phase extraction device and used as an extracting unit. Before the micro-solid-phase extraction, microwave-assisted extraction was employed to facilitate the transfer of the pesticide residues from the apple matrix to liquid media. Then, 1 mL of the aquatic samples was transferred into the 96-well plate and the 96-micro-solid-phase extraction...

Immobilization of copper ions onto α-amidotriazole-functionalized magnetic nanoparticles and their application in the synthesis of triazole derivatives in water

    Abstract
A new heterogeneous copper catalyst was synthesized by immobilization of copper ions onto magnetic nanoparticles with a new ligand based on triazole. The catalyst was characterized using scanning and transmission electron microscopies, atomic absorption and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopies, and thermogravimetric, elemental and energy-dispersive X-ray analyses. The results confirmed that a good level of organic groups was immobilized on the magnetic nanoparticles. Huisgen cycloaddition reaction was chosen as a model reaction for the investigation of catalyst activity under green conditions. Phenylacetylene and benzyl bromide derivatives were used for the synthesis of triazoles. The...

Mercaptotriazole as a nucleophile in addition to o-quinone electrochemically derived from catechol: Application to electrosynthesis of a new group of triazole compounds

    Abstract
Electrochemical oxidation of catechol in the presence of 3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole (MTA) as a nucleophile in aqueous buffered solutions was studied by cyclic voltammetry and controlled-potential coulometry. The mechanism of electrochemical reaction is confirmed by spectrophotometric tracing in various times of controlled-potential coulometry. The voltammetric and spectrophotometric foundations indicate that a 1,4 Michael addition of MTA from its thiol moiety to the electrochemically derived o-quinone is occurred. The electrochemical synthesis of Michael addition product has been successfully accomplished by controlled-potential coulometry in a divided H-type cell and the reaction product was...

Simultaneous detection and identification of thiometon, phosalone, and prothioconazole pesticides using a nanoplasmonic sensor array

    Abstract
In this work, a colorimetric sensor array has been designed for the identification and discrimination of thiometon (TM) and phosalone (PS) as organophosphate pesticides and prothioconazole (PC) as a triazole pesticide. For this purpose, two different plasmonic nanoparticles including unmodified gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and unmodified silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were used as sensing elements. The principle of the proposed strategy relied on the aggregation AuNPs and AgNPs through the cross-reactive interaction between the target pesticides and plasmonic nanoparticles. Therefore, these aggregation-induced UV–Vis spectra changes were utilized to discriminate the target pesticides with the...

    Abstract
Due to the widespread use of pesticides and their harmful effects on humans and wildlife, monitoring their residual amounts in crops is critically essential but still challenging regarding the development of high-throughput approaches. Herein, a colorimetric sensor array has been proposed for discrimination and identification of triazole fungicides using monometallic and bimetallic silver and gold nanoparticles. Aggregation-induced behavior of AgNPs, AuNPs, and Au-AgNPs in the presence of four triazole fungicides produced a fingerprint response pattern for each analyte. Innovative changes to the metal composition of nanoparticles leads to the production of entirely distinct response patterns...
