    Preparation of a naltrexone HCL potentiometric sensor and its application to pharmaceutical analysis and drug determination in biological fluids

    Abstract
    A novel ion selective electrode is fabricated for naltrexone HCl and used in pharmaceutical analysis and drug determination in biological fluids without complicated pretreatments and extractions, using direct potentiometry. The naltrexone complex with sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB) is obtained by in situ soaking PVC membrane electrode in an 1 × 10 -3 M naltrexone solution. The sensor exhibited fast, reproducible and linear sub-Nernstian response over concentration range of 1 × 10 -5 - 1 × 10 -3 M with a detection limit of 5 × 10 -6 M. The membrane sensor was successfully applied to the determination of naltrexone in capsules as well as for its determination in urine and plasma samples  

    Silver nanoparticles-polyaniline nanocomposite for microextraction in packed syringe

    Abstract
    A rapid, convenient and reliable method for microextraction in packed syringe (MEPS) of the loop diuretic furosemide (FUR) in urine along with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was developed. A nanocomposite based on silver nanoparticles/polyaniline (Ag-NPs/PANI) was synthesized and used as the MEPS packing material. This nanocomposite was prepared conveniently using interfacial polymerization without the need for any templates or functional dopants. The feasibility of the synthesized nanocomposites was examined by isolation of FUR from diluted urine samples. After extraction, the analyte was desorbed by 200 μL of methanol.     Abstract
    Titanium(IV) tetraisopropoxide was employed as a metal oxide sol-gel precursor to prepare ceramic composite nanofibers by the electrospinning system. To facilitate this process and obtain the desired nanofibers with higher aspect ratios and surface area, poly(vinylpyrrolidone) was added to the sol of titania. Four ceramic nanofibers sheets based on titania were prepared while each sheet contained different transition metals such as Fe-Mn, Fe-Ni, Fe-Co, and Fe-Mn-Co-Ni.     A new method based on the combination of magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) and spectrofluorimetric determination was developed for isolation and preconcentration of fluoxetine form aquatic and biological samples using sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) as a sorbent. The unique properties of Fe3O4 NPs including high surface area and strong magnetism were utilized effectively in the MSPE process. Effect of different parameters influencing the extraction efficiency of fluoxetine including the amount of Fe3O4 and SDS, pH value, sample volume, extraction time, desorption solvent and time were optimized.
