    A novel phenomenological constitutive model for Ti-6Al-4V at high temperature conditions and quasi-static strain rates

    Abstract
    Phenomenological constitutive modeling of Ti-6Al-4V at temperatures between 923 and 1023 K under 0.0005–0.05 s−1 quasi-static rates is studied based on a phenomenological approach. For this purpose, the Johnson–Cook constitutive model is revisited. At low temperature conditions under moderate to high strain rates, the material’s stress–strain curves are the most similar to power-law function. Contrary to this, at high temperature conditions under low to moderate strain rates, the saturation-type function well describes the stress–strain curves.     Abstract
    The influence of annealing treatment on macro- and micro-texture of cold-rolled FeCo-7.15V ferro-magnetic ultra-thin foils were studied. The microstructural studies performed by field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) showed the formation of paramagnetic precipitations ((Fe, Co)3V) during annealing. During cold rolling of the FeCo-7.15V magnet, the texture components of type (113)[110], (001)[110], (111)[110], and (111)[121], all related to α and γ-fibers were formed. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and local texture measurements performed by electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) were made on the annealed samples.     Abstract
    Depending on the type of dopant metal, many kinds of zircon based pigments are produced and blue vanadium pigment is the most important one of them. In this study, blue zircon ceramic pigments were synthesized from intermediate product, resulting from decomposition of zircon sand with NaOH. In this regard, various amounts of sulfuric acid, water, NH4VO3 as colorant, NaF as mineralizer and extra quartz were added to the prepared Na 2ZrSiO5.     Abstract
    It is known that the thermomechanical processing is one of the most important techniques for improving quality and mechanical properties of microalloyed steels. In this paper, the main parameters of hot forging (preheat temperature, strain and post-forging cooling rate) on the primary austenite grain size of vanadium microalloyed steel (30MSV6) were studied. From this investigation, it was found that increasing preheat temperature from 1150 °C to 1300 °C will result in a decrease in grain size number. Furthermore, it has shown that as the strain increases, the austenite grain size number increases, as is evident for the two cooling rates of 2.5 °C/s and 1.5 °C/s for primary austenite.... 

    Photo-degradation of methelyne blue over V2O5- TiO2 nano-porous layers synthesized by micro arc oxidation

    Abstract
    V2O5-TiO2 porous layers were synthesized via micro-arc oxidation for the first time. The effect of the applied voltage on morphology, composition, and photo-activity of the layers was investigated. The layers, which consisted of anatase, rutile, and vanadium pentoxide phases, revealed an enhanced photo-activity. About 93% of methylene blue solution was degraded on the synthesized layers after 120 min UV-irradiation with a reaction rate constant of k = 0.0228 min-1. The band gap energies of the vanadia-titania and pure titania layers were calculated as 2.56 and 3.39 eV, respectively  

    NMR investigation and theoretical calculations of the solvent effect on the conformation of valsartan

    Abstract
    Structure and conformational properties of valsartan were studied by advanced NMR techniques and quantum calculation methods. Potential energy scanning using B3LYP/6-311++g** and B3LYP-D3/6-311++g** methods were performed and four conformers (V1-V4) at minimum points of PES diagram were observed. According to the NMR spectra in acetone-d6, there are two conformers (M and m) with mM = 0.52 ratio simultaneously and energy barriers of the two conformers were predicted from chemical shifts and multiplicities. While, intramolecular hydrogen bond at tetrazole ring and carboxylic groups prevent the free rotation on N6[sbnd]C11 bond in M-conformer, this bond rotates freely in m-conformer. On the...

    Abstract
    Simplified equations are used for the analysis of a dual active bridge converter leading to a conservative estimation of the zero voltage switching (ZVS) region. The ZVS is directly affected by the inserted deadband in each leg of the converter. In this paper the impact of the ZVS capacitor and deadband on soft switching region for this converter is analyzed. Also, the sufficient constraints for ZVS condition in the input and output bridges are determined by analyzing the circuit behavior during the bridges deadband. Simulation results of a 700V-350V, 50-kW DC-DC converter validate the analysis. © 2017 IEEE

    Abstract
    In this study, the fatigue behavior of Ti-6Al-4V alloy is tend to be improved by severe plastic deformation via shot peening and plasma nitriding. Shot peening with sub-branches: Conventional shot peening (A12-14), severe shot peening (A28–30 and A34-36) and repeening (N6-8) are exposed. Besides plasma nitriding is implemented at 500 °C, 550 °C and 600 °C with the durations of 4, 8 and 16 h. Due to utilization of shot peening as prior severe plastic deformation during diffusion of nitrogen, two methods are applied in sequence. Surface morphology and topography of the layers were investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and atomic force microscope (AFM).
