Analytical and Experimental Study of Heat Pipes Performance to Condense the Vapors Outlet of Process Condensate Strippers

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Fadaee Ayyam, Behrooz (Author) ; Shafii, Mohammad Behshad (Supervisor) ; Sadrhosseini, Hani (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In petrochemical, Process condensate is mixtures of dissolved gasses and water. Process condensate striper tower is a physical separation equipment where dissolved gasses remove from water by saturated steam. The Process condensate feed is introduced at the top of the column and the steam input is located at the bottom. When the process condensate enters the stripper tower, it comes down the tower also when the steam enters the tower, it goes up, because there is packing portion in the stripper tower and two streams are countercurrent, as result contact between steam and process condensate, a lot of dissolved gases vapors and exits with steam from top of tower. After leaving the tower, the...

Synthesis of titanium nano-particles via chemical vapor condensation processing

    , Article Journal of Alloys and Compounds ; Volume 509, Issue 19 , 2011 , Pages 5825-5828 ; 09258388 (ISSN) Attar, A ; Halali, M ; Sobhani, M ; Ghandehari, R. T ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In the present study, titanium nano-particles have been synthesized using chemical vapor condensation (CVC) process. Reaction of sodium and titanium tetrachloride vapors in the tube furnace resulted in the production of titanium nano-particles that were encapsulated in sodium chloride. Dried Argon gas was employed as a carrying agent. Titanium nano-particles were contained in an ethanol bath. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) were employed for analysis and characterization of nano-particles. The size of primary particles was smaller than 100 nm and secondary particles were submicron agglomerations

Examination of a novel solar still equipped with evacuated tube collectors and thermoelectric modules

    Abstract
In this article, a novel solar still which is equipped with thermoelectric modules to utilize the heat of vapor condensation is experimentally investigated. The use of thermoelectric modules as devices for generating electricity from the temperature difference between two environments (hot vapor steam and cold ambient air) as well as taking outstanding advantages of evacuated tubes as collectors with high performances in adverse climatic conditions, led to utilizing of the energy dissipated due to vapor condensation and a considerable increase in the performance of the system. The effect of using the generated electricity to operate a small propeller fan for inducing forced convection was...
