    Abstract
Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) are a promising solution for reducing the impacts of passenger vehicles on the environment. However, their driving range is restricted due to the limitations of battery technologies. This range can be extended by adoption of multiple-speed transmissions. Most of the comparisons in the related studies are based on non-optimal designs or limited to modal driving cycles. Furthermore, the impact of Power-Split. Continuously Variable Transmission (PS-CVT) layout with type III power How on the power consumption of BEVs has never been examined. In this paper, single-, two-, and three-speed transmissions along with PS-C'VTs with type I and III power flows are...

    Abstract
Vehicle speed control is one of the most important factors at increasing safety, reducing the number and severity of road accidents. Also, other factors such as inappropriate designing, the overuse of speed bumps, nonconformity to the prevailing standards of the world in construction, maintenance, and repair of roads can cause damage to the car suspension and consequently brings the discomfort of car occupants when crossing the actual road under different driving conditions (various speeds and maneuvers). In the present paper, the effect of different vehicle velocities on the comfort of occupants was investigated empirically. To this end, a passenger vehicle was driven at different constant...

Toward design and fabrication of wind-driven vehicles: Procedure to optimize the threshold of driving forces

    Abstract
Wind energy has been continuously considered as a green, available, and economical alternative source of energy. For centuries, the transformed wind energy to drag-force has been used for transportation in watercrafts. With improvement of aerodynamics, the airfoil was invented to create and use a higher magnitude aerodynamic force, lift-force, in order to elevate airplanes. Later, the lift-force was horizontally applied as the thrust force in land/water wind-crafts. Whereas in airplanes horizontal airfoils (wing) create a vertical lift-force, installed vertical airfoils (wing-sail) produce a horizontal lift-force in wind-crafts. Therefore, this force can be used as thrust (driving) force in...
