    Abstract
In this study, we use the concept of Bohmian trajectories to present a dynamical and deterministic interpretation for the gravity-induced wave function reduction. We shall classify all possible regimes for the motion of a particle, based on the behavior of trajectories in the ensemble and under the influence of quantum and gravitational forces. In the usual approaches all the information is obtained from the wave function evolution. But, on the basis of Bohm's deterministic quantum theory, we can investigate the motion of the particle during the reduction processes. This leads to analytical and numerical results for the reduction time and equation of motion of the particle. In this regard, a...

Investigating Reasons for Decrease in the Popularity of Wave Reduction by
    Decoherence

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Sharifian, Alireza (Author) ; Golshani, Mehdi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Decoherence is one of the candidates for solving the measurement problem, and is among the group of theories which are trying to solve the measurement problem within the quantum theory, by removing the wave function reduction axiom. The main idea is to consider the environment of the system which was ignored in the classical physics. The openness of a quantum systems makes the system and its environment entangled, and that leads to the transmission of system information to the environment, and finally, the system loses its individuality. This approach claims that since the observer can’t control and consider all the degrees of freedom of the environment and has only access to the system,...

Differences Between Standard Quantum Mechanics and Bohm's Quantum Mechanics

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Asayesh, Omid (Author) ; Golshani, Mahdi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The purpose of introducing this thesis is to review the difference between Standard Quantum mechanics and Bohmian Quantum mechanics. The aim of this dissertation is not only to contrast these theories with respect to formulation, but also to briefly review their historical, philosophical and sociological aspects. This dissertation consists of two main sections. The first section is about reviewing the emergence profile of these theories and the formation of each theory along its historical path. In addition some beliefs about the founders of these theories and the impact of their beliefs on the evolution of their theories are put forward. As a complement to the above, the prevailing social...

Solution of the Measurement Problem in Some Formulation of Quantum Mechanics and Bohm's Theory

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Zhoolideh Haghighi, Mohammad Hossein (Author) ; Golshani, Mehdi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In spite of succesfull achievements of standard quantum mechanics in describing variety of physical phenomenons, this theory has some conceptual problems in some areas. One of the important problems is the behavior of macroscopic objects and their interaction with microscopic systems, which is called “measurement problem”. Actually because the standard quantum mechanic is linear, it anticipates the occurrence of superposition of macroscopic states which is in contrast with our understanding of macroscopic objects. The standard theory answers this problem by using the wave function reduction principle.
There has been various proposals about the mechanism of wave function reduction,...
