    Abstract
We introduce a dynamical picture, referred to as correlation picture, which connects a correlated bipartite state to its uncorrelated counterpart. This picture allows us to derive an exact dynamical equation for a general open-system dynamics with system-environment correlations included. This exact dynamics is in the form of a Lindblad-like equation even in the presence of initial system-environment correlations. For explicit calculations, we also develop a weak-correlation expansion that allows us to introduce systematic perturbative approximations. This expansion provides approximate master equations that can feature advantages over existing weak-coupling techniques. As a special case, we...

Demythifying the belief in cryptocurrencies decentralized aspects. A study of cryptocurrencies time cross-correlations with common currencies, commodities and financial indices

    Abstract
The main question of this article is about whether cryptocurrencies, within their decentralization aspects, are a real commodity or/and a virtual currency. To resolve such a dilemma, we compare 7 cryptocurrencies with a sample of the three types of monetary systems: 28 fiat money, 2 commodities, 2 commodity based indices, and 3 financial market indices. We use the matrix correlation method. We display dendrograms and observe “hierarchy clustering”, as a function of data coarse graining. In fact, we confirm that the cryptocurrencies are not decentralized. We observe also that most of the currencies in the world are not significantly correlated or present a weak correlation with...

New product promotion and e-commerce; effects of retailer webpage layout on buyer behavior

    , Article 5th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology, ICMIT2010, Singapore, 2 June 2010 through 5 June 2010 ; 2010 , Pages 1224-1229 ; 9781424465675 (ISBN) Vessal, S. R ; Vessal, S. R ; Movarrei, R ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
This article studies effects of webpage layout in an online retailer on buyer behavior towards new products and is a sequel to a study performed by authors in department stores. Webpage layout -in terms of parameters which influence buyer behavior- is formulated by two variables; pattern of prices and pattern of popularity. A novel method based on above-mentioned study, has been developed to measure these two factors, so that they can be compared against retailer sales statistics. Investigating this relationship helps both online retailers and marketing agents to better understand effect of webpage layout in promoting a newly developed product. Results show that correlation between price...
