    Abstract
    In order to maintain the production of offshore oil wells, the National Iranian Oil Company periodically services facilities and equipment located in oil wellheads with mobile wellhead servants. It also gives technical supports to oil wellheads and mobile wellhead servants with supporter vessels. Due to supply limitations, there are not enough special vessels (namely supporter vessels and mobile wellhead servants) compared to the number of oil wellheads. The failure of special vessels to service oil wellheads and supporter vessels to technically support mobile wellhead servants based on a predetermined plan, will lead to considerable loss in production performance of oil wells and hence...

    The wellhead flow control valve bodies which are the focal point of this failure case study were installed in some of the upstream facilities of Khangiran's sour gas wells. These valve bodies have been operating satisfactorily for 3 years in wet H2S environment before some pits and cracks were detected in all of them during the periodical technical inspections.     Asphaltene deposition during oil production and transportation causes extensive damage to reservoirs and wellhead equipment. In this study, the effects of native and non-native resins as well as those of their mixtures on the asphaltene deposition process are investigated. A novel pressure, volume, and temperature (PVT) visual cell is used to check the effect of resin on asphaltene deposition at different pressures and reservoir temperatures.     Abstract
    The analysis of the capture zone of wells is useful to design pumping systems and wellhead protection programs. In this study, an analytical solution for the head distribution of a partially penetrating well, and semi-analytical methods to determine the geometry of the capture surface are presented. The analytical solution is derived based on an infinitesimal radius under a constant pumping rate in a two-zone confined aquifer. Using the developed solution, a sensitivity analysis is performed to study the influence of skin on the drawdown, location of the stagnation point, maximum horizontal and vertical extent of the capture surface.
