  8. Throughout the history of science, mankind has always invented tools and methods to help him deal with complex problems, means that constitute the science. Systems theory and all the tools and methods introduced by it to analyze and judge simple to complex systems, although relatively recent, has left an enormous impact on current life style by being one those very important sciences that make dealing with complex systems easier. On the other hand, the importance of educational systems and their impact over the success of societies and large systems is close to obvious. In today’s world, having an effective educational system which can deliver required information to people and prepare them for specific tasks, is a critical attribute for a country as a whole and for its subsystems as compartments. As a specifically important example, the aerospace educational systems has a huge impact on its effectiveness and ultimate success. In summary, the purpose of this thesis is outlining specific guidelines, known as analogy indices, that help increase efficiency of operations and stability of large socio-economic systems, with greater emphasis on educational systems and specially aerospace educational systems. This research, has tried applying different prominent system theory models to educational systems in order to find the most suitable ones and then has applied those models to capture or acquire new analogy indices indicating the health of information flow inside the system. The body of this report starts with an overview of system theory and then investigates applying this theory to large socio-economic systems (specially educational systems) in the form of different generic models. Finally the results are stated and a case study is introduced to apply some of the results
