  8. Endurance Time Method (ET) is a type of dynamic pushover procedure in which the structure is analyzed under special series of accelerograms, called ET acceleration Functions (ETAF) and the response of structure is sketched versus time until the collapse state. With evaluating response curve and the time which damage in structure reach the expected value, the final assessment of structure can be made. In this dissertation, the application of ET method for Non-linear 3 dimensional seismic analysis of steel moment frames under earthquake multicomponent excitation is investigated. For this purpose, various patterns of ET loading are investigated and the most appropriate algorithm in compatibility with seismic provisions, regarding the level of available data, speed and accuracy of analysis is recommended. To evaluate the recommended algorithm for linear and nonlinear 3D analysis under multi component excitation in horizontal and vertical directions, several steel moment frames of 1 to 15 stories were designed according to INBC, No. 2800 code and then analyzed by ET method, considering horizontal and vertical excitations simultaneously. To verify the results, two series of real Ground Motions records including 7 and 20 real earthquake records were applied in order to have a reasonable judgment criterion. In multi-directional analysis, various parameters such as correlation of components of ground motions and critical orientation, torsion mode effect, eccentricities of mass and stiffness, lateral period of vibration, irregularity in plan and height of structure, effect of nonlinearity, Ductility, Nonlinear behavior of materials and sensitivity to ground motions in results discrepancies are also investigated
