  8. One of the most important problems that challenge the researchers in modeling physical phenomena is the Impact Problem. The complexity of impact problems is due to the fact that this problem consists of various sub-problems, each of which of high complexity and in order to have a clear understanding and correct modeling of the problem, one needs to address each and every one of these problems with great effort, severity and punctuality.Impact problems often involve one or more dynamic systems that can also be subjected to dynamic loading. This loading could be a result of external agents or dynamic interaction of the two bodies with each other. In cases where the problem involves interaction of two or more bodies, the Contact Problem and the mutual effects of the bodies upon each other becomes of great importance. On the other hand, due to the dynamic nature of such problems, they are often concerned with large deformations, which demands a nonlinear analysis of the problem, regarding both probable geometrical and material on line arities. Another important and complex aspect of the Impact Problem is the existence of high velocities which cause large deformations to occur in a small period of time. These facts make the analysis of Impact Problems costly and cumbersome. In order to reach suitable precision in detecting contact points of the two bodies and the moment of impact, sometimes it’s necessary to choose the time interval for the dynamic analysis very small and in range of nanoseconds. Form a numerical computations standpoint, this could cause the entire analysis process to be in danger of numerical instability or divergence. Another problem that a too small time interval could cause in the analysis procedure is the increase in Rounding Error of the dynamic time integration scheme used.
