  7. Abstract:
  8. In the present study, a number of Steel Plate Shear wall (SPSW) models with various infill plates such as perforated and slit infill panels are analyzed and the results are utilized to discuss about behavior of Steel Plate Shear walls with various infill plates. The ABAQUS finite element package is utilized for all Eigen value and incremental nonlinear pushover analyses. Cyclic loading is in compliance with the ATC 24 loading protocol (ATC 1992). To validate modeling, boundary conditions and loading procedures, the experimental results provided by Darren Vian et al. [102, 103] and In-Rak et al. [48, 49] was modeled and analyzed. Investigation of steel plate shear walls made of different steel infill panel is the distinctive point of this research. Due to the fact that construction of steel plate shear walls with slit and perforated infill panels require high accuracy in implementation, we introduce several models with general name of ISOLATION in order to eliminate this obstacle. Furthermore, In order to reach to higher level of energy absorption, we introduce several models with general name of STRIP and investigate them. In this investigation we show that using of steel plate shear walls made of different steel infill panel can influence reduction factor. In chapter three we show that for Special Moment frame systems with SPSW the reduction factor is depended on the type of infill panel and materials that the infill plate is made by them, and the reduction factor is varied between R=9 and R=11. In chapter four the results from different models under cyclic loads are presented and models with stable and unstable hysteresis behavior will be introduced. In addition, we propose some aspect for modeling of steel plate shear walls with slit and perforated infill panel
