  7. Abstract:
  8. In positioning and navigation, Sonar with utilization of sound waves in water environments is similar to the role of Radar in not watered (irrigated) environments. In the Sonar field, modeling and simulation of propagation of sound waves in the undersea environment is a fundamental and very important topic. Nowadays simulation is significant tool that allow to the researchers to predict the quality of Sonar function respect to the experimental conditions. For simulation and modeling of sound wave propagation are used two different methods; Wave theory and Ray theory. In the wave theory, because of the large volume of data, the interpretation of the results is hard. Also in this method cannot be able to apply the boundary condition easily. However in the Ray theory the results are possible to drown and actual boundary condition are applicable easily. The results of this method are valid just for high frequency conditions (data). Also this method is very useful for gigantic environments that sound speeds and the environment propagation property, such as depth and material of ground, depends on Range. In this study we used the Beam tracing method, it lie in Ray theory method class, for simulation and modeling of sound propagation undersea environment. In this theses after a review of past studies about sound propagation simulation in sea environment, we described the scientific foundations and numerical methods related to this phenomena. And then we introduced software and reported the result of this software in five situations. Regarding to the results, it is explicit that result of this software have good and acceptable precise and this software can be able to model the sound pressers in shadow reigns better than other methods in in this category
