Abstract
Considering the significant role of process plans in computer-aided manufacturing, a lot of researches have been conducted to fulfill the gap between the different aspects of process planning systems. However, there is still a wide gap for process planning systems to completely fulfill the requirements. In this research an expert system for turning operation is proposed. The system is capable of suggesting appropriate machining parameters with the aid of an inference engine.
