  7. Abstract:
  8. The Endurance Time Method is reprehensively new and comprehensive method for analyzing and designing the structure quality in based on performance that is related on time history analysis for investigating structure systems under dynamical instigation in result of earthquake. In this evaluation the index comparison in based on endurance time against of applied acceleration function. The result of the structure will plot against time, until the structure will achieve to a special amount of damage. The high endurance time means high performance. While the damage index will maintain less than allowable limit until endurance time, the structure will be approvable. In this project the ability of the endurance time in quake evaluation of irregular concrete structure with considering the nonlinear behavior of materials will be investigated. For evaluating the endurance time method results and comparing the quality of them with preciseness, we need an appropriate index. Accordingly, the time history dynamic method will used for comparing; to see what is endurance time method results is near to the dynamic analyzed results. For comparing, at the first deference parameters in both analyzing methods would be equal. Accordingly, maximum drift level as an engineering request parameter or damage index was used in both methods. The next step is selecting and providing the appropriate model to evaluate the structure behavior of both methods. The important point is selecting the appropriate ground motions for dynamic analysis that are in same scale to endurance time acceleration function. Since the endurance time acceleration function is regulated for the second type of Iran standard spectrum, seven types of the C type of ground motion acceleration was used. FEMA 695 instruction that is same as with second land type standard was used. In the last step, the dynamic analyses and endurance time analyses were performed and the results were compared. Results of endurance time method was very close to the time history analysis results. So, endurance time method can be used for analyzing the behavior of regular and irregular concrete structures.
