  7. Abstract:
  8. One of problemsin an inverse problem like history matching is there is no unique solution. This means that maybe several diferent permeability maps can correctly reproduced the history of fieldt but there is no garanttee that these maps accurately predidct reservoir production behavior. One way to face and deal with this problem, except manipulation of solution and optimization algorithm (inverse modeling) is to use other data sources like seismic data, Variogram, pore volume, and fracture density or any other parameter obtained from geostatistical investigations.Multi-resolution wavelet analysis can be an appropriate tool to gather the necessary information to characterize the inverse model using the least possible parameters. However, the problem of the large size of the characteristic variables like permeability map still exists. Therefore, it is recommended to perform a sensitivity analysis on wavelet coefficients in orther to collect the most effective ones.Another problem in history matching of a large scale reservoir is the presence of noise in observed production data so these recorded data can be assumed as high-frequency signals. Each of noise reduction techniques can be applied but wavelet transform specificallyis used in this study. The aim of this study is to integrate Variogram information into history matched permeability map in order to increase the accuracy of the map, meanwhile analysis of sensitivity coefficients and effect of wavelet type will investigate. In both parts of the project including denoising and integration of production data with Variogram many type of wavelets are investigated. Simulated annealing method for optimization algorithm is selected.Two-dimentional standard Odeh reservoir is selected as a case study which is reservoir under gas injection. History matching parameters are injector bottomhole pressure, producers oil rate and gas-oil ratio.
