  8. Behaviour of piled-raft foundation on clayey soils have been analysed and assessed by the numerical methods. In this study; emphasis is made on assessment of the settlement distribution and the decrease of differential and average settlement for piled raft foundation. in these type of foundations adding piles are primarily as settlement reducers. In order to study the behaviour of pile raft foundations, numerical modelling with FLAC 3D have been carried out by using the elastic structural elements encoded in the software. In this modelling, the behaviour of soil is assumed Elastoplasts and was modelled by the Mohr-colomb constitutive medel. In this survey, the effects of different parameters on the behaviour of piled-raft foundation have also been stadied and suitable solutions for optimum design based on decrease in average and differential settlements have been presented. In this survey the parameters of pile length, pile arrangement and also the variation of foundation thickness that leads to variation of soil and foundation relative stiffness have been discussed. Also, the impacts of type of loading for achieving a comprehensive view of primary and secondary design have been investigated. And also the impact of different magnitude of loading that leads to linear and nonlinear behaviour in load-settlement curve have been explored.In addition, In this research program, the effect of different parameters on load distribution between raft and pile groups and also load contribution of the whole loading for each pile have been studied in order to forecast the raft contribution as well as contribution of pile groups in the stressed load on foundation in designs. Finally, an appropriate guideline for designing the whole pile-raft foundation system in both levels of primary and final design have been presented
