  8. One of the reducing and controlling tools of high speed crafts is intelligent interceptor. Interceptor is a small blade that is originally installed vertically in stern. This blade creates a high pressure area under hull of the craft and produces lift force and a moment to the bow. The amount of lift force and moment can be changed by controlling the height of the blade. The intelligent interceptor (with automatic change in height of the blade) does the same thing. In this study, structural and software design of intelligent interceptor is done. In software field, optimal and PID controller are designed for interceptor system and the performances are studied in MATLAB SimuLink. The results indicated that both interceptor controllers improve behavior of the craft but PID controller had better performance. The effect of interceptor on maneuver and its performance is another issue that is studied in this research. In this way, after implementation of high speed craft maneuver relations in MATLAB, the effect of interceptor on maneuver is added to these relations and the results are observed. Interceptor can have positive effect on maneuver of high speed crafts in asymmetric performance i.e. blades are not changed in same. The maneuver circle of high speed craft with and without interceptor is drawn and compared. It is indicated that interceptor reduced radius of the turning circle and this is the expectation by recognition of interceptor performance. At last, the effect of interceptor and its height on high speed craft motions is studied by an experimental test. The results indicated that using interceptor is effectively reduces the motions. This reduction is increased by increasing in height of the interceptor
