  7. Abstract:
  8. The growth of high voltage dc-dc switching power supplies in various applications such as medical, industrial and laboratory research is undeniable. Design of these power supplies, respect to their expectation have some restrictions. Among the main characteristics, appropriate output voltage regulation, high efficiency, fast dynamic response and low EMI problems, are expected. Transformers constraints as one of the key components of high voltage dc-dc switching power supplies, plays essential role in the selection of converter topology and its control algorithm. In this thesis, first, with regard to issues of high frequency and high voltage transformers, provides a good approximation model for it so that in addition of simplicity could show the transformer behavior as well. Then, using the model in the structure of full-bridge phase shift converter, the behavior of this converter for DCM and CCM, will be examined from the perspective of power and control. Presentation of large-signal model, small-signal model, the design of controller and survey of converter specification under these conditions for constant and pulsed load applications with policy considerations associated with the minimum switching frequency are the main objectives of this thesis. Implementation of the proposed converter for a particular design, verifies the theory and simulation results
