Abstract
Non rigidity of the soil beneath the structure, alters elastic and inelastic response of it. This effect is caused by the soil-structure interaction. The effect of soil-structure interaction is studied in two parts, Kinematic interaction and inertial interaction. Among these, kinematic interaction effects are often assumed to be negligible so that even in existing regulations it has been ignored.
