  7. Abstract:
  8. Distinguishing characteristic of wireless sensor network is limited resources such as processing power, bandwidth, memory. Restrictions of sensor networks is impressive on the transfer of multimedia data such as video requiring high bandwidth and low latency. In wireless multimedia sensor networks, the probability of packet loss is high due to the high volume of multimedia data and limited bandwidth. Many congestion control protocols for wireless sensor networks have presented. Most of these protocols did not consider the multimedia content. Even some wireless sensor network congestion control protocols have worse result than a network which has no congestion control protocol in case of wireless multimedia sensor networks. It is olny CACC considering multimedia content. But CACC eliminates a great number of packets in high congestion. In order to address this problem and provide more bandwidth, we provide a new congestion control prorocal. This protocol includes a disjoint Multipath Routing algorithm with minimum delay. When congestion is detected, this protocol consider the multimedia content and equalize packet inter departure time and use disjoint route for transmitting packet with low priority. The simulation result shows that in comparison to CACC, the proposd algorithm in terms of reducing the number of lost packets P and B have respectively, 58.9% and 62.27% and in terms of reducing the number of P and B frames lost respectively, 31.4% and 50.73% improvement. The video quality (signal-to-noise ratio) and the network throughput have increased 8.5% and 18.34% respectively. Moreover, end to end delay of the proposed algorithm is increased by 28.9% compared to the CACC
