- Abstract:
- The aim of this research has been to modeling and optimization of steam injected gas turbine with inlet air cooling using absorption chiller. The whole system consists of compressor, combustion chamber, turbine, heat recovery steam generator, absorption chiller and cooling coil. The tasks carried out in this research include four points of view. The thermodynamic, exergetic, thermo-economic and environmental points of view are considered along modeling and optimization process. Design variables including temperature of combustion chamber exhausted gas, pinch point temperature of heat recovery steam generator and steam injection flow rate. Finally this modeling and optimization process is carried out for simple gas turbine cycle and steam injected gas turbine and the results are compared with first cycle. Computer codes have been written to accomplish these purposes. Multi-objective optimization in genetic algorithm has been used for optimization process. In all optimization process T3 is a parameter that all goals are satisfied with its increase. It can be mentioned that Tpin has the same behaviare as T3 does. Other three optimization variable do not have unique behavior and strictly depend on optimization parameters. The best conclusion that can be drawn is that gas turbine cycle with absorbtion chiller and HRSG has more benefits than its cost then it is strongly recomnded for power and efficiency improvement.
