  7. Abstract:
  8. In this project, the main purpose is attaining the optimum controller for DFIG under permanent voltage unbalances. To achieve this purpose, firstly, the wind turbines’ control strategies, and main control subsystems including DFIG’s controller, Pitch control system, as well as Yaw’s control system are reviewed. The efficient control algorithms to achieve the control purposes for these three subsystems are introduced. To continue, it is focused on generator’s controller, and the different methods besides their performance are discussed. In order to improve DFIG’s controller performance under permanent grid voltage’s unbalance condition, at first, the problems of operating during such a condition are examined, and the different linear control algorithms based on the current-based vector control model of DFIG in stator voltage oriented reference frame is designed afterwards. The offered optimum control algorithm and the structure of the positive and the negative sequence controllers are discussed and compared with the other earlier proposed controllers. Finally, in the main part, the equation of the rotor current references, used in the structure of optimum controller, are determined so that the best performance by minimizing the negative sequence of rotor current, negative sequence of stator current, torque oscillation, active and reactive power oscillation gets attained. The operation of the designed optimum controller is checked by simulation studies. A multi-objective optimization is applied, and the weighed-sum method is used to solve the optimization problem. The results of optimization are the optimum values of rotor current references which are checked through MATLAB simulation
