  7. Abstract:
  8. One of the most important conditions in weak rock masses with high overbuerden which causes problems in the tunnel construction, is squeezing condition. This is actually defined as increases in the shear deformation of the rock element, when the element is under constant deviatoric stress. Qomroud water tunnel with a length of 36 km and a drilling diameter of 4.5 meters deliveres water from the branches of the Dose to the Golpaygan and Qom. Because of a high overbuerden and existence of schist, slate, clay limestone zones, studing of squeezing potential, prediction of convergence of tunnel wall and lining pressure in this tunnel is very important. In this research, we stuied the 25th to 35th kilometers length of the tunnel. First, empirical, semi-empirical and theoretical analysis, used to evaluated the squeezing potential in the study range. Then, The analytical methods and numerical modeling using FLAC software and creep modelings such as burger and cvisc used to estimate the convergence of critical sections. The results of analytical methods and numerical modelings shows a maximum elastic displacement of 17.5 mm of the tunnel wall. In the case k = 1, the maximum displacement tunnel wall after ten years, for unlined tunnel reaches 113 mm. For lined tunnel if assumed that the lining will not be constructed until the instantaneous elastic displacement occurs, the maximum displacement tunnel wall equals to 25 mm and if assumed that the tunnel lining is installed immediately after excavation, the maximum displacement of the tunnel wall equals to 3 mm in case k = 0.5, 10 mm in case k = 1 and 28 mm in case k = 2
