  7. Abstract:
  8. There are many industries in the world that produce colorized wastewater. Because of the complex structure and good solubility of dyes, such industries have problem treating this wastewaters. On the other hand, because of the toxicity of these materials for water living, dye removal from discharged wastewater of these industries is very important. In recent years, researchers have become interested in the synthesis of dye Nano adsorbents and they have published many works on this subject. The important parameters in the synthesis of such adsorbent include; non-toxicity, high adsorption capacity and easy separation. In this project, cellulose was extracted from bagasse and then CMC was synthesized from it. CMC is a natural polysaccharide with no toxicity. In some works, CMC alone was used as adsorbent but the problem with it is that carbonic adsorbents have not a good separation property. Therefore for easy separation by external magnetic fields, we covered CMC on the magnetic graphene oxide. To increase adsorption capacity, surface of CMC was modified by citric acid. Citric acid was grafted on CMC as a polymer. As abundant carboxylic functional groups on surface, electrostatic interaction between negative charges of adsorbent and positive charges of cationic dye increased and it led to an increase in its adsorption capacity. Effect of synthesized adsorbent on adsorption of methylene blue was investigated. Also the effect of parameters such as: pH, contact time and initial concentration of dye was investigated. The synthesized adsorbent reached the equilibrium state in less than an hour. Maximum adsorption capacity of adsorbent obtained was 588.23 mg/g
