Abstract
Shear strength of rock joints is one of most important aspect of applied rock mechanics. Shear strength prediction models have been proposed by many authors like Patton, Ladany, Papaliangas, Maksimovic, and Grasseli. Purpose of this thesis is inspection of Shear strength of soft irregular rock joints which built by adding one or two irregularities on a regular profile. Twenty artificial irregular rock joint samples by mixing water and stucco have been built. Then samples were tested by direct shear test on constant normal load condition and their shear properties were recorded.
