On the Performance of Passive TMDs in Damage Reduction of 2-D Concrete Structures, Considering Soil - Structure Interaction, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Rahimzadeh Rofooei, Fayyaz (Supervisor)
Abstract
Application of passive control systems in reducing the seismic induced forces on different structures has attracted the attention of many engineers and researchers during the last few decades. Various damping systems have been introduced in this regard, and many of them have practically been implemented in different buildings. Tuned Mass Dampers (TMD) are certain types of passive control systems that can effectively reduce the dynamic response of tall buildings under various types of dynamic forces. More specifically, extensive researches have been carried out on the application of TMDs on suppressing the seismic response of tall buildings in recent years. In this regard, the soil-structure...
