  7. Abstract:
  8. Constructed wetlands are natural systems for wastewater treatment that Proper functionality of these systems to remove organic matter, pathogens, micro pollutants and etc., Are considered as environmental friendly systems. Proper capabilities of pollution removal and inexpensive cost of construction, commissioning and maintenance of these systems compared to engineering WWTPs in the world is leading to growing constructed wetlands. Due to the increasing use of artificial wetlands in the world for post treatment wastewater, because of right capabilities of this systems, and the absence of any natural wastewater treatment systems on Kish Island, this study investigates the possibility of using this method in wastewater treatment according to the island's warm and humid climate. An attempt was made to investigate the efficiency and change of COD, TDS, TSS and pH in a subsurface flow constructed wetland with a trickling filter pretreatment in a pilot scale on Kish Island. For this purpose, it was attempted to dig a channel in the area of MIRMOHANNA WWTP, with dimensions 4m length, 1m width and 0.5 m depth. It was filled by two type media samples and the influent (raw wastewater) after trickling filter import in constructed wetland and the effluent parameter by laboratory equipment measured
