  7. Abstract:
  8. Logistics activities and matters related to supply chain management play an important role in the success of supply chain in today’s competitive business environment. The success of an organization depends on the proper functioning of the whole supply chain organization. SCOR model as a reference model for supply chain management is a suitable framework to manage all aspects of the supply chain and enables the creation of an appropriate and efficient structure in supply chains. In this thesis the Procurement department of a petrochemical company is examined and the current state of the supply chain is explained and then based on the SCOR model, in 4 areas: Performance (indices), Processes, Practices, and People (Skills) the recovery takes place. SCOR model is a powerful tool in the hands of managers so that they can assess supply chain and identify opportunities for improvement and also it is used to evaluate the benefits and costs through predicting indicators. This model does not have any intention of optimizing the supply chain directly and thus there is no mathematical methods on it. However, the model by defining a series of words and standard processes can be modeled to provide all the different entities and then comparing and analyzing them by performance indicators to allow more improvement in chain organizations
