- Abstract:
- Given the population growth in the world and in dire need of electricity and to reduce pollution and moving toward sustainable development, renewable energy has special importance in the world. Iran, with 300 days of sunshine a year is one of the countries with high potential in the field of solar energy but for various reasons, solar energy has no significant role in our energy portfolio. Considering the purchase of solar power by the government, reduce solar electricity costs and payback time of the factors that could make greater use of this energy. In this projects using light splitting method, in addition to reducing cell area used, by removing a significant portion of the sun's rays below 500 nm and above 1000 which increases the temperature of the cell, is capable of operating the system in low concentrations. So that the simulation results, the concentrator to concentrate 10 times, passing and guiding about 81 percent of the photons of 500 to 1000 nm, the spectrum of harmful radiation will be impeded 56.2 percent and 37.5 percent of total radiated power will dissipate. The experimental system was launched using Plexiglas for concentrator, designed to validate the model. In the laboratory system, 71% for spectrum useful guidance was measured and 10% of the difference with simulation checked out. Unfortunately, due to lack of stability of the concentrator due to lubrication, checking the ability of concentrator in distribution of harmful radiation, was not possible. Finally, using the results of laboratory systems, economic calculations were performed to compare the concentrator system with the system without photovoltaic concentrator systems. Economic calculation results for concentrator systems, assuming a discount rate of 10 percent, the cost of energy equivalent to 3100 rials per kWh will result compared to photovoltaic systems without focusing, 1090 rials less. Then, the sensitivity analysis on the discount rate, the price of solar tracker, the increased energy annual production by tracking and the cost of panels, is done. Also, in addition to reducing economic costs of the proposed concentrator systems, it can be produced a higher temperature hot water than photovoltaic systems without concentrating
