  7. Abstract:
  8. High-altitude simulation lab of chemical thrusters is one of the most important infrastructures for the development of space thrusters technology. In these laboratories, different sections are designed according to the requirements for simulation of the thrusters at specific pressure and temperature. The purpose of this research is to design a subset of the creation and preservation of vacuum for the purpose of ground testing of chemical thrusters. Vacuum preservation is more comprehensive than the vacuum creation and is usually the bottleneck of design, so the design of this subset is intended in the present study. To illustrate this, after introducing the basic concepts required, two existing vacuum preservation methods are introduced, one is the mechanical method of using a vacuum pump, and the other is the use of a second throat diffuser and ejector. In this study, the design and selection ,of both methods have been carried out, but according to the requirements and the technical and financial facilities available, the first route has priority and has been studied more precisely. It should be noted that in the references there is no specific algorithm for designing and selecting the requirements for the use of a vacuum pumps. Therefore, a completely new design algorithm has been developed and the design of the intended set is done. In addition, the second throat diffusers and ejectors were used. In this section, the diffuser design was carried out according to the conventional "normal shock" method, while the method of design was obtained by assuming "constant pressure in constant cross-section" using a basic algorithm. Finally, in order to study the important parameters and phenomena of the flow field, an ejector model was designed and tested. In this ejector, due to the implementation of various tests, performance parameters such as suction capacity and suction ratio were investigated and analyzed in the flow field inside the model
