  7. Abstract:
  8. Inside an airport, proper Ground Handling Operations (GHO) plays a significant role in timely airplane departures as well as reducing operating costs. These operations consist of numerous processes that follow standard precedence to avoid delays. In this research, the issue of scheduling and allocation of resources for ground operations of the airport has been investigated. For this purpose, using a mathematical programming approach, a two-objective model was proposed to reduce delays and costs. In this model, all ground operation equipment were considered integrally under the standard operational precedence. Moreover, due to the uncertainty factor in the problem under study, an interval robust programming approach is used to deal with the disturbances. The proposed model is tested using a number of scenarios under deterministic and uncertain conditions. The results show the validity of the model performance and the model analysis results in some managerial insights for better planning of airport ground operations. These insights include determining the optimal resource level for the GHO, analyzing the effect of time constraints on the cost and time of operations, and analyzing the flights’ arrival delay on the total workload on available capacity
