  7. Abstract:
  8. As you know, the behavior factor is one of the important parameters and values for calculating earthquake force and base cutting in the building. In this research, the effect of coefficient of behavior (R) on metal structures has been investigated. For this purpose, we selected a metal structure with an average bending frame and dual system with shear wall and examined it. To determining the effect of this coefficient on different structures, we modeled the structures with regular and irregular plans. Considering the structure height effect and also the type of soil on the site of the proposed structure to the factor and refractive coefficient (B) and its direct impact on the magnitude of earthquake force, we studied the 5- 10- 15 floor in I and III type soils. We also designed a 5-floor metal structure in soil type I & III with a gravel load, and then applied to the lateral force structure, then analyzed it and studied the effects of the lateral force on it. Finally, we concluded that drift values and dcr will be increased for both of them, up to this increasing be visible in moment frame system. Also, the changes in soil type led to increasing sections and had more effect on drift and dcr. However, increasing of height and irregularity in plan cause increased of dcr and drift
