  7. Abstract:
  8. Although the moment frame can show deformable behavior against seismic loads, but its flexibility and low stiffness, especially in tall structures, cause the governance criterion to be designed. The use of eccentrically braced frames was able to solve the displacement problem to some extent, because it has the characteristics of both flexural frame systems and conccentric bracing. Different methods have been proposed to eliminate residual displacements in this type of system, one of which is the use of post tensioned cables. The aim of this study was to investigate the seismic behavior of a steel structure with a eccentrically braced frame system with post tension cable. The cables are anchor on one side inside the foundation and on the other side at the roof level. The purpose of developing this system is to return the structure to its vertical and vertical position after the earthquake. Such systems have the inherent ability to return the structure to its original vertical position after the earthquake. In this case, the joint beams that have suffered seismic damage can be more easily repaired or replaced. In this regard, most research has been on how to connect joint or return the structure using cables with horizontal arrangement. In this research, models are selected according to the placement of vertical cables, then it is affected by several earthquake records. The analysis shows that the post tension cables in the Eccentrically brace frames can reduce the waste movements of the floors to an acceptable level. The use of post tension cables also reduces the maximum fluctuations and drifts of the structure during an earthquake
