  4. Abstract:
  5. Corporate entrepreneurship (CE) has been drawing mounting interest in recent decades. Entrepreneurial behavior holds paramount importance in organizational research, since entrepreneurship is essential for modern organizations success. Each scholarly has partly investigated the concept. This paper seeks to present the result of a systematic review of the prominent studies about CE while elaborating on fundamental concepts. To do so, we have conducted statistical analyses of significant 336 studies while categorizing CE literature on a thematic basis. The analyses suggest that CE literature may fall in three main categories, i.e., antecedent, process, and consequence. The paper proceeds to further delve into these categories while examining key studies of each to delineate pivotal concepts. In the second part of the paper, we try to describe historical trends and the research methodology employed in CE studies. Thus, the current paper is expected to illustrate a representative picture of CE research directions and fundamental concepts. As some researchers have pointed to the close relationship between International Entrepreneurship (IE) and CE, IE has been specifically addressed in this survey. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature
