  7. Abstract:
  8. The aim of this study was the performance analysis of the effect of guide vanes in a quasi-radial wall jet to improve the flow separation control on the wing composed of NACA4415. In order to achieve this goal, first, by examining two geometries of "quasi-radial wall jet" and "arced-shape wall jet", the effect of jet's internal flow on separation control improvement has been studied and arced-shape wall jet has been chosen as a suitable replacement for the uniform quasi-radial wall jet, which has changed the radial velocity distribution of the jet output from uniform to non-uniform. Also, increasing the radial component of the jet output velocity and improving the separation control have been investigated by adding vertical guide vanes to the arced-shape wall jet. These cases have been simulated using Transition SST and large eddy simulation (LES, WALE) in three dimensions at an averaged jet Reynolds number of 4000. The results show that considering the internal flow of the quasi-radial wall jet in simulating flow separation has a good effect on improving separation control and the aerodynamic efficiency of the wing has been increased by 50% compared to a uniform quasi-radial wall jet with the same inlet mass flow rate. However, the results of the effect of guide vanes show that adding them to the arced-shape wall jet at best, did not make a difference in improving separation control
