  7. Abstract:
  8. Considering that emigration has been one of the serious and popular issues in Iran during the past decades, the capacity of talents and non-resident elites, who are important pillars of the development of the country's knowledge-based economy, should not be overlooked. One of the best measures in order to achieve the long-term goals of the country's scientific perspective and to take advantage of the scientific reserves of Iranian scientists and specialists abroad is to increase return migration. However, the country does not have enough capacity to hire skilled and specialized labor abroad, Iran can become an entrepreneurial power plant for several reasons. Therefore, the entrepreneurial return of Iranian specialists and graduates can not only benefit Iran from the positive effects of their entrepreneurship, but also does not require the necessary infrastructure to employ this large population and will facilitate the social and economic integration of them. Therefore, one of the important questions is to identify the factors affecting the entrepreneurial return of Iranian specialists and graduates returning to the country. For this purpose, an attempt has been made to analyze in-depth semi-structured interviews with returning entrepreneurs by a combined method using the grounded theory method and questionnaire analysis using the exploratory factor analysis method.Findings show that three groups of personal factors, factors in the country of origin and factors in the destination country affect the entrepreneurial return of Iranian professionals, which personal factors include personal beliefs and perceptions. Country of origin factors include access to networks, entrepreneurial ecosystem, entrepreneurial opportunities, incentives for return and entrepreneurship, lower costs of starting a business in Iran, and the country's political-economic situation. The factors of the destination country also include economic, political and legal challenges in the host country.
