  7. Abstract:
  8. In this thesis, we will take a more profound study about what technology is and the relationship between technology development and society. We will discuss various theories such as the social construction of technology, the heterogeneous engineerings approach, the system approach, and the co-construction of society and technology. In this way, the relationship between economic and social systems and technological products is explained and based on this, an approach is proposed in relation to the ethical challenges in technology with a focus on social networks. The discussion is about the fact that due to the continuous use of technologies, a challenge may be raised in the technology consumer society; a challenge between two value systems. The first is the values in technology that are affected by the society that develops that technology and are transferred to the destination society through the continuous consumption of technology. The other is the values existing in the technology consuming society before the introduction of that particular technology. In this thesis, we try to show how obvious and hidden values are embedded through the design and development of a technology with a philosophical reflection on the nature of technology and its relationship with society. Then, focusing on social networks, as one of the most used technologies in recent years, we will explain some valuable challenges of using this technological product and suggest a indigenous approach to face such challenges
