Abstract
Yttrium Aluminum Garnet powders possessing controlled size distribution has found applications in production of transparent ceramics, phosphors, laser host materials and composites. Sol-Gel Combustion process is one of the versatile methods to produce nanometeric garnet powders. This procedure is based on combustion of a concentrated gel of metal salts and fuel in an exothermic reaction which leads to nanoparticles formation. pH value of solution and employed fuel system strongly affect production quality and single phase nanopowder can be synthesized by well monitoring these parameters.
